PitStorm ("PitStorm," "we," "us," or "our") is a service operated by Neuroptune LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when auto repair shops ("Shops") and their customers ("Vehicle Owners") use our platform.
1. Information We Collect
From Shops (account holders): Name, email address, and business information provided when creating a PitStorm account.
From Vehicle Owners (Shop customers):When a Shop checks in a vehicle, Shop staff enter the Vehicle Owner's name, phone number, vehicle details, and a description of the requested service. If the Vehicle Owner opts in, we also collect their consent to receive text message updates.
Automatically: Basic usage data (login activity, pages visited) to operate and improve the service.
2. How We Use Information
We use this information to:
- Operate the vehicle check-in and status tracking service
- Send status update text messages to Vehicle Owners who have opted in
- Process Shop subscription billing
- Provide customer support and improve the platform
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use Vehicle Owner data for our own marketing.
3. Text Messaging (SMS)
If a Vehicle Owner opts in at check-in, PitStorm sends automated text messages about their vehicle's repair status, including a link to a status-tracking page. Messages always identify PitStorm as the sender.
- Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase or service.
- Message frequency varies based on vehicle status changes. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time, or HELP for assistance.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of data sharing exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent — this information is never shared with any third party for any purpose.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share information only as needed to operate the service, with:
- Supabase — database hosting and storage
- Twilio — SMS delivery (subject to Twilio's own privacy practices)
- Stripe — subscription payment processing for Shops
These providers are contractually restricted to using data only to perform services for us.
5. Data Retention
We retain vehicle and job records for as long as a Shop's account is active, or as required to comply with legal obligations. Vehicle Owners may request deletion of their information by contacting the Shop directly or support@pitstormapp.com.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted data storage and access controls, to protect information from unauthorized access.
7. Children's Privacy
PitStorm is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Your Rights
Vehicle Owners may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, or request access to or deletion of their data by contacting support@pitstormapp.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
